The name Los Alcazares is derived from the Arabic word 'Al Kazar', which means 'palace' or 'house of nobles'. These were buildings built by the Moors for their vacation and relaxation. Moreover, it was the Moors who discovered the excellent properties of the waters of the Mar Menor, which they enjoyed in the ancient Roman baths.
